The Silver Chamber of Sorrows(2008)

The Silver Chamber of Sorrows is a Hong Kong series set in early 20th-century Foshan, where the prestigious Sheung's Silver Chamber jewel company teeters on financial collapse. Owner Sheung Hang and his wife devise a marriage arrangement between Hang's younger brother Wan and the daughter of a wealthy family to secure a crucial loan. When Wan's lover Ching Sau-Hang discovers the scheme, she marries Hang out of spite, becoming her former lover's sister-in-law. The deception fractures family bonds irreparably. Wan severs ties with his family and leaves China to start anew abroad, leaving behind a legacy of betrayal and broken promises that will haunt the Chamber for years to come.
