Frontier(1955)

Frontier is an American Western anthology series that aired on NBC from September 1955 to September 1956. Rather than emphasizing gunplay, the show focuses on the real hazards faced by settlers pushing into the American West. It was only the second anthology Western series in television history, following Death Valley Days. Each episode dramatizes actual historical events and is narrated by Walter Coy, who also appears in occasional installments. Producer Worthington Miner crafted the series to explore the genuine dangers and challenges of westward expansion, offering viewers a grittier, more grounded take on the frontier era than typical action-driven Westerns of the time.
