Chernobyl(2022)

Chernobyl is a historical thriller series set during the catastrophic months of 1986. When the Soviet KGB detects suspicious foreign intelligence activity around the Chornobyl nuclear power plant, military counterintelligence officer Andrey Nikolaev is dispatched to Pripyat to locate a suspected CIA operative, Albert Lenz. The series follows Nikolaev's investigation as he navigates the tension between Cold War espionage and the unfolding nuclear disaster. Set against the backdrop of the world's worst nuclear accident, the narrative weaves together personal stakes, political intrigue, and the mounting human cost of the catastrophe. From April through December 1986, Chernobyl explores how ordinary people confronted extraordinary danger while caught between superpowers and an unprecedented crisis.
