Sir Yellow(1973)

Sir Yellow is a British sitcom that aired on ITV in summer 1973. Starring Jimmy Edwards as the titular knight, the show transplants medieval chaos into the 13th century with a cast including Melvyn Hayes, Alan Curtis, and Michael Ripper. Sir Yellow follows a cowardly, womanising, alcoholic nobleman through his bumbling misadventures. Despite its premise, the series struggled with critics and audiences alike, lasting just eight weeks before cancellation. It never returned for a second run, and decades later TV critic Mark Lewisohn ranked it among the worst British sitcoms ever made. Sir Yellow remains a curious footnote in 1970s comedy history.
