Good People is a Belgian drama series about Tom and Linda, a thirtysomething couple living on the French border facing financial ruin. Tom works as a policeman while Linda runs a beauty salon, but mounting debts push them toward desperation. They devise a life insurance scam to fund an escape to sunnier shores, and the scheme initially proceeds smoothly. Their plans unravel when Philippe, a French gendarme conducting an investigation, complicates matters—and his affair with Linda adds another layer of tension. The series explores how a small border community grapples with corruption seeping through its streets, examining the ordinary people caught between survival and morality as their scheme spirals beyond their control.
