Zlatá labuť is a Czech series following Bára Veselá, a woman dogged by misfortune and fleeing from authorities. She stumbles into an unlikely job as a saleswoman in the fashion department of Zlatá labuť, a newly opened luxury department store that stands as a gleaming modern palace in Prague's center. The store harbors secrets beneath its opulent façade. Set in March 1939, the narrative unfolds as German occupation forces invade Czechoslovakia, forcing Bára and those around her to navigate survival amid the encroaching darkness of war. The series weaves together personal struggle and historical upheaval against the backdrop of this iconic Prague landmark.
