The Nest(2023)

The Nest is a Chinese historical drama set in 1933, as the Japanese army advances through North China, capturing Shanhaiguan and occupying Chengde. Shanghai becomes a powder keg of competing interests, with multinational forces and underground resistance movements at odds. Three agents from Qingshan Military Academy—Gu Pan, Tian Qiao Jie, and Tan Zhong Wen—navigate espionage and danger in this volatile landscape. Gu Pan undertakes a perilous solo mission to assassinate a Japanese economic official, setting off a chain of consequences that tests loyalty, survival, and the cost of resistance during wartime.
