Spirits in Chinese Brushes is a fantasy series that blends ancient Chinese history with modern-day adventure. Two thousand years ago, a member of the Yinyang Family preserved the spirits of scholars killed during Qin Shihuang's book burning by transforming them into magical brushes. In present day, college student Luo Zhongxia accidentally obtains a brush containing the spirit of the legendary poet Li Bai, granting him extraordinary powers. When multiple factions learn of the brush's existence, they pursue Luo Zhongxia relentlessly, forcing him into dangerous situations. His attempts to return the artifact fail repeatedly, and he instead becomes bound to seven different brush spirits. As he navigates this supernatural entanglement, Luo Zhongxia must uncover the truth behind the brushes while evading those who would exploit their power.
