Afro Village(2025)

Afro Village is a Russian comedy about Anatoly Stolbov, a pragmatic village head who has spent years impressing Moscow officials with elaborate feasts and careful budgeting. When his daughter Tanya returns from Africa with a group of displaced villagers seeking shelter after a natural disaster, Anatoly initially refuses to help. But a visiting commission from the capital arrives, and Tanya seizes the moment, convincing them that her father's village is already part of an international resettlement program. Promised funding, Anatoly reluctantly welcomes the African guests. His tolerance unravels, however, when he learns that Tanya plans to marry one of them. The film explores the collision between small-town Russian life and unexpected cultural exchange, as Anatoly's carefully managed world spirals into chaos.
