Dresden(2006)

Dresden is a German historical drama set in January 1945, following young nurse Anna Mauth, who becomes engaged to senior physician Benjamin Wenninger while working at a Dresden hospital. When an English Lancaster bomber is shot down, its sole survivor, pilot Robert Newman, reaches the city gravely wounded and hides in the hospital's cellar. Anna discovers him and initially mistakes him for a German deserter, but chooses to help him anyway. The series explores the collision of duty, compassion, and survival during the final months of World War II, as Anna risks everything to protect an enemy combatant while navigating the moral complexities of wartime loyalty.
