The Festival(2005)

The Festival is an ensemble comedy following young director Rufus Marquez as he navigates his first trip to the prestigious Mountain United Film Festival with his film, The Unreasonable Truth of Butterflies. Desperate to secure a distribution deal, Rufus finds himself drowning in a world of ego and constant connectivity. What begins as a promising opportunity quickly unravels as disaster strikes repeatedly, testing his resolve and forcing him to survive the chaos of the festival circuit. Caught between ambitious filmmakers, industry gatekeepers, and mounting catastrophes, Rufus must somehow keep his dreams—and himself—intact amid the madness.
