In Cold Blood is a film adaptation of Truman Capote's landmark nonfiction novel about one of America's most shocking crimes. In November 1959, two ex-convicts—Dick Hickock and Perry Smith—break into a farmhouse in Holcomb, Kansas, searching for a rumored safe full of cash. Finding nothing, they brutally murder the entire Clutter family before fleeing. The killings devastate the small Great Plains town, where such violence was unthinkable. Detective Alvin Dewey of the Kansas Bureau of Investigation must pursue the case with almost no leads, no clear motive, and no suspects.
