Vino e pane(1973)

Vino e pane is an Italian drama series set in 1935, following Pietro Spina, a communist intellectual exiled for his political beliefs who makes a clandestine return to Italy. Assuming the false identity of Don Paolo Spada, a recuperating priest, Spina settles in Pietrasecca, a remote mountain village in Abruzzo. Driven by longing for his homeland, he navigates the tension between his revolutionary convictions and his assumed religious role, embedding himself in a community shaped by tradition and faith.
