Seven Periods with Mr Gormsby(2005)

Seven Periods with Mr Gormsby is a satirical New Zealand comedy series that follows an old-school teacher whose politically incorrect methods and outdated worldview clash sharply with modern school culture at the fictional Tepapawai High School. Created by Danny Mulheron, Dave Armstrong and Tom Scott, the show stars David McPhail as the cantankerous Mr Gormsby, whose clashes with students and staff form the backbone of sharp-edged humour that skewers both the education system and contemporary New Zealand social attitudes. Two seasons aired between 2005 and 2006 on New Zealand's TV ONE and Australian ABC channels, earning a devoted following across the Tasman. The series was filmed at disused schools in Lower Hutt, with each season using a different location. DVDs remain available through the ABC Shop in Australia.
