Cuckoo(2014)

Cuckoo follows Grigory and Raisa Groshin, a married couple struggling to keep their farm afloat in the rural village of Zaprudy. While their daughter pursues education in the regional center, they work to breed steers and make ends meet on their modest land. Their relationship has grown stale over the years, and financial pressures mount as they navigate a system rigged against small farmers—corrupt officials and unscrupulous bankers constantly threaten their livelihood. The series captures the quiet desperation of rural life, where hard work alone cannot guarantee survival, and love fades under the weight of endless compromise and disappointment.
