Requiem from the Darkness(2003)

Requiem from the Darkness is a Japanese anime series following Momosuke, a young collector who travels across Japan seeking one hundred paranormal and bizarre tales for publication. His solitary quest takes a dark turn when he encounters three mysterious figures: Mataichi, a sinister priest; Nagamimi, a bird-caller with hidden depths; and the enigmatic Ogin. As Momosuke joins forces with this strange trio, he discovers their true nature and becomes entangled in something far more sinister than folklore. The series blends horror, mystery, and supernatural elements as Momosuke's innocent search for stories transforms into a descent into darkness, where the line between collector and collected grows increasingly blurred.
