Knights of God(1987)

Knights of God is a British science fiction series that aired on ITV in 1987. Set in 2020, the story unfolds under the iron rule of the Knights of God, a fascist religious order founded by the Prior Mordrin. The group seized power during a devastating civil war that erupted in 2000, when Brother Hugo allegedly massacred the Royal Family and the civilian government crumbled. With traditional authority destroyed, the Knights filled the vacuum and established their theocratic regime. Written by Richard Cooper, the serial explores a dystopian Britain transformed by religious extremism and authoritarian control, blending sci-fi worldbuilding with the darker themes of power and resistance.
