Spencer(1984)

Spencer is an American teen sitcom that aired on NBC for one season beginning in December 1984. The show follows high school student Spencer Winger and his family, originally starring Chad Lowe alongside Mimi Kennedy and Ronny Cox. After six episodes, Lowe departed and was replaced by Ross Harris, prompting a retooling that renamed the series Under One Roof when it returned in March 1985. Ronny Cox also exited during this overhaul, with his character written out as having abandoned the family. Harold Gould and Frances Sternhagen joined the cast as Spencer's maternal grandparents. Richard Sanders, known for WKRP in Cincinnati, appeared as a high school guidance counselor.
