Gonulcelen(2010)

Gonulcelen is a Turkish series inspired by Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion and My Fair Lady, relocated to Istanbul. Murat, a thirty-year-old classical musician and educator from a wealthy, prominent family, encounters Hasret, a free-spirited flower seller from one of the city's poorest neighborhoods. Despite her rough edges and untrained voice, Murat recognizes raw potential in her singing and becomes determined to transform her through rigorous classical music training. As he takes on the role of her mentor, the unlikely pair navigate the vast gulf between their worlds—wealth and poverty, refinement and raw authenticity. Their relationship becomes a battle of wills and hearts, exploring whether genuine connection can bridge such profound social divides.
