Serangoon Road(2013)

Serangoon Road is a drama series set in 1964–65 Singapore, a city caught between colonial rule and independence. Political tensions run high as the British withdraw and a new nation emerges. Against this backdrop of cultural collision—Motown records, American sailors, and Rolling Stones fans mixing with soldiers heading to Borneo—detective Sam Callaghan and his partner Patricia Cheng run the Cheng Detective Agency. Their cases begin with routine infidelity investigations and fraud but escalate into matters of international consequence. When CIA operative Conrad Harrison enters their orbit, Sam's old military contacts pull him back into a dangerous world he'd hoped to escape. The series balances noir mystery with the turbulent politics of a transforming city.
