3-South(2002)

3-South is an MTV animated comedy following Sanford and Del, two irresponsible lifelong friends navigating life at the fictional Barder College. While their intelligent roommate Joe tries to keep things grounded, nearly everyone else at the campus proves hopelessly incompetent. The series inverts typical sitcom logic by positioning the chaotic, thoughtless Sanford and Del as protagonists, with responsible Joe cast as the antagonist. Created by Family Guy writers Mark Hentemann and Steve Callaghan and based on their earlier short film, 3-South stands as the sole animated series MTV commissioned from Warner Bros. Animation. The show's opening theme features The Flaming Lips' "Fight Test" from their 2002 album Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots. The series balances absurdist humor with the everyday absurdities of college life, celebrating the underdog appeal of its deliberately flawed leads.
