The Carmichael Show is a comedy series created by Jerrod Carmichael and Nick Stoller that follows a young couple navigating life together in the city. Jerrod and his girlfriend Maxine decide to move in together, but their plans for a fulfilling relationship quickly collide with the chaos of Jerrod's eccentric family. His father is a contrarian who says whatever comes to mind, his mother is devoutly religious and always right, his brother Bobby is a perpetual hustler, and Maxine is training to become a therapist. As the couple tries to establish boundaries and build their future, they're constantly tested by family drama, misunderstandings and the absurdities of modern romance. Smart and motivated but perpetually outnumbered, Jerrod and Maxine learn that sometimes the biggest obstacle to happiness isn't external—it's the people who love you most.
