The Half Brother(2013)

The Half Brother is a dramatic family saga following screenwriter Barnum Nilsen across twentieth-century Europe. On V-Day 1945, Barnum's mother Vera is assaulted in her Oslo attic, giving birth to Fred—Barnum's half brother. When Barnum arrives five years later, the Nilsen family mirrors a fractured continent, divided by Cold War politics and paternity. Fred searches for his father while Barnum grows up with his own; the brothers drift apart, and Fred vanishes. In 1990, as the Berlin Wall falls, Barnum learns Fred has resurfaced at a film festival. When Fred's true parentage emerges, the estranged half brothers face the possibility of reconciliation—and reckoning with the war's lingering wounds.
