Mysterious Island(1973)

Mysterious Island is a historical adventure series set during the American Civil War. Five prisoners of war escape their captors by balloon, only to be swept across the ocean and marooned on an uncharted island. There they discover they're not alone: the legendary Captain Nemo, played by Omar Sharif, dwells beneath the island in a vast underground cavern with his advanced submarine, the Nautilus. When pirates threaten the castaways, Nemo emerges to aid them using his remarkable technological innovations.
