Rising Sun is a romantic comedy about two childhood friends from vastly different worlds. Alice, an independent woman raised in a Japanese family, and Mario, an immature guy of Italian descent, share a bond forged across generations. When Alice decides to move abroad, Mario realizes his feelings run deeper than friendship. What follows is his determined—and often clumsy—attempt to transform their lifelong connection into something more. The series explores whether their unlikely romance can survive the clash of their distinct cultural backgrounds and Mario's immaturity, all while testing the foundation of their childhood friendship.
