Saving Rock follows Takao Matsumoto, a 30-year-old salaryman and rock music enthusiast whose carefree spending habits cost him his three-year relationship with girlfriend Makiko. Desperate to win her back, Takao commits to radical frugality, cutting corners on food and utilities. His efforts hit a snag when Kota Inaba enters the picture, pursuing Makiko himself. As Takao navigates the tension between his passion for rock and the discipline required to rebuild his life, he discovers whether financial responsibility and romance can coexist.
