Backpackers is a Canadian comedy series following Brandon and Ryan, two friends on a backpacking adventure across Europe. When Ryan's stolen journal unexpectedly goes viral online, the pair—joined by Brandon's brother Andrew—must chase down the manuscript while pursuing Ryan's dream of becoming a published author. The series originally aired as a web series on CTV.ca and CW Seed in 2013 before The CW picked it up for television in 2014, editing existing material and producing new episodes. Starring Dillon Casey, Noah Reid, and Giacomo Gianniotti, Backpackers blends travel mishaps with the comedic fallout of unwanted internet fame.
