Hancock's Half Hour(1956)

Hancock's Half Hour is a BBC comedy series that aired in the 1950s and 60s, written by Ray Galton and Alan Simpson. Tony Hancock stars as Anthony Aloysius St John Hancock, a struggling comedian scraping by at his shabby flat on Railway Cuttings in East Cheam. Early seasons feature Sid James as Hancock's foil, while later episodes centre on Hancock alone. The show follows his misadventures with exaggerated comic desperation, mining humour from his everyday failures and delusions of grandeur.
