Blessings(2014)

Blessings is a drama that spans two eras, contrasting tradition with modernity. Set initially in 1940s China, the story follows Lian Wending, heir to a renowned pastry shop called Xiji and gifted craftsman. He loves Lin Xiaomei, a travelling songstress, but his father forbids the match and arranges his marriage to Sun Xiulan, a wealthy merchant's daughter. Bound by duty, Wending accepts. On Mid-Autumn night, he falls into a well and mysteriously awakens in modern Singapore, where he discovers he's among his own descendants. The family's Xiji pastry business is now in crisis. As Wending fights to save it using traditional methods, he encounters She Meiren, a westernised businesswoman who bears an uncanny resemblance to Xiaomei but with a strikingly different temperament. Their clash between old and new ways sparks an unexpected romance, forcing both to reconsider what truly matters.
