Chikatilo(2021)

Chikatilo is a historical drama series about Soviet serial killer Andrei Chikatilo, who murdered over fifty people across more than a decade while evading capture. An innocent man was executed for crimes he didn't commit as authorities struggled to connect the killings into a single case. The Soviet system, unprepared to acknowledge that such predators could exist within its borders, fumbled the investigation for years. The manhunt eventually mobilized vigilantes, police officers, prosecutors, and psychiatrists in a desperate race to stop the killer the press called the "Rabid Beast." The series chronicles how this case forced law enforcement to develop new investigative techniques that would transform criminal psychology and help protect future victims.
