Comedy Lab(1998)

Comedy Lab is a British television series that presents pilots of experimental comedy shows. Broadcast irregularly on Channel 4 and E4 since 1998, the anthology series has become a launchpad for innovative comedy talent. Several pilots have evolved into full series, including the cult hit Trigger Happy TV, Fonejacker, That Peter Kay Thing, Meet the Magoons, and FM. The show also marked Jimmy Carr's first television appearance in Jimmy Carr's World of Corporate Videos. Each series features a rotating lineup of short-form comedy concepts, from sketch shows to character-driven pieces, giving emerging and established comedians a platform to test new material and ideas. Comedy Lab's legacy as a proving ground for British comedy innovation spans more than a decade of irregular but consistently inventive programming.
