Genius Comes First is a Chinese drama series following Li Yanhao, a freshman whose reputation crumbles after a misunderstanding when he tries to help someone in need. Branded unfairly as a pervert, he spirals until he joins Yu Lan's filmmaking team as a way out of his despair. Despite the group's inexperience, the project becomes a turning point—giving Yanhao purpose and direction he thought he'd lost. As the team navigates the challenges of creating their first short film, they discover that sometimes the most meaningful connections come from the most unlikely circumstances. The series explores themes of redemption, friendship, and second chances through the lens of young people learning to trust each other and themselves.
