Gidget(1965)

Gidget is a 1960s sitcom starring Sally Field as the title character, a spirited teenage surfer navigating school, boys, and family life with her widowed father Russ Lawrence, a UCLA professor played by Don Porter. The series captures the sun-soaked California beach culture of the era through the eyes of a girl caught between adolescent independence and parental responsibility. Broadcast on ABC from September 1965 to April 1966, Gidget was among the network's first regularly scheduled color programs.
