Lawman(1958)

Lawman is an American western series that aired on ABC from 1958 to 1962, starring John Russell as Marshal Dan Troop and Peter Brown as Deputy Marshal Johnny McKay. Set in Laramie, Wyoming during the 1870s and 1880s, the show follows the two lawmen as they maintain order in a frontier town. Russell and Brown, alongside producer Jules Schermer, committed to keeping the series distinct from other westerns of the era. In season two, Peggie Castle joined as Lily Merrill, owner of the Birdcage Saloon and a romantic interest for the marshal. Lawman was part of Warner Bros.' prolific western slate, which included Cheyenne, Maverick, Colt .45, and Sugarfoot, cementing the studio's dominance in the genre during the late 1950s and early 1960s.
