Life Art(2007)

Life Art is a Hong Kong series centered on Ren Qingquan, a respected calligrapher and painter who runs Duo Bao Xuan, a shop in Sheung Wan specializing in traditional art supplies, paintings, and calligraphy. He also teaches classes to promote Chinese cultural heritage. A widower, Qingquan lives with his uncle Gao Dawei and his daughter Zhihua, who has recently returned to Hong Kong after completing her fine arts degree in Beijing. The devoted father becomes increasingly protective and controlling, determined to provide everything for his daughter's future. As Zhihua settles back into life at home, tensions surface between her independence and her father's overwhelming devotion. The series explores the complex dynamics of their relationship, revealing hidden depths beneath their apparent closeness and questioning what truly drives a parent's love and sacrifice.
