Pets(2001)

Pets is an adult British puppet sitcom that aired on Channel 4 for two series in 2001 and 2002. Created and written by Andrew Barclay and Brian West, the show follows four main characters confined to a single flat, delivering sharp comedy through puppet-based humor. Though broadcast in the early morning hours and initially obscure, Pets developed a devoted cult following. A total of 26 episodes—each roughly 11 minutes long—were produced. The series was later sold internationally to Fox Australia, MTV Italy, and Middle Eastern broadcasters. Demand from fans led to a limited-edition DVD release featuring both series, two unbroadcast episodes, a clip show, and behind-the-scenes content. Several episodes are now available as free podcasts via iTunes. Pets remains a cult curiosity in British comedy, predating the similar BBC3 puppet series Mongrels by nearly a decade.
