Raising Miranda(1988)

Raising Miranda is a 1988 CBS sitcom that aired for just two months. The series follows Donald Marshack, a contractor in Racine, Wisconsin, who becomes a single parent when his wife abandons him and their 15-year-old daughter Miranda to "find herself." Forced to juggle fatherhood and motherhood with no domestic experience, Donald navigates the chaos of raising a teenage girl alone. Bryan Cranston appears as Russell, Donald's brother-in-law. Despite the show's comedic premise, audiences found the darker setup too heavy for a sitcom, and the series was quickly cancelled.
