Rapl(2016)

Rapl is a Czech crime series following Detective Kunes, a troubled cop facing dismissal after assaulting his ex-wife's boyfriend. His commanding officer offers him a lifeline: an internship in a remote borderland region. The catch is his real assignment—solving a two-year-old murder of policewoman Wágnerová that's gone cold. The frontier region is rife with smuggling, drug production, poaching, and violence. Kunes must navigate a relentless caseload of serious crimes before he can focus on his primary investigation, which he eventually pursues almost by accident. The series balances procedural tension with the gritty realities of law enforcement in a lawless corner of the country.
