Rossella

Rossella is an Italian television series set in late nineteenth-century Genoa. The story follows Rossella, a beautiful young woman from an aristocratic family, who falls in love at first sight with Giuliano, a journalist. Already betrothed to Walter Jagaer by her father's arrangement, Rossella defies her family's wishes and elopes with Giuliano to marry for love. Her father, viewing her actions as an unforgivable betrayal and a stain on the family's honour, disowns her. The series explores the clash between personal desire and social expectation in a rigid, class-conscious society where such rebellion carries devastating consequences.
