(S)He is a documentary series following Juju, a transgender girl navigating her transition in a small rural town where privacy is scarce. As puberty intensifies her dysphoria, Juju struggles to win acceptance from family and classmates who've known her as a boy her entire life. When her parents separate, she moves with her mother and begins high school as Emma, finally able to present as her authentic self. She finds community through a rock band and begins to flourish socially. But as her visibility grows, online harassment threatens to unravel the safety she's fought so hard to build. The series captures the raw reality of adolescent transition—the hope, the setbacks, and the resilience required to claim your identity in an unforgiving environment.
