Snip(1976)

Snip is a 1976 comedy series starring David Brenner as a Cape Cod hairdresser juggling life with his ex-wife, daughter, and former aunt all living in his apartment. Working in the same salon under their openly gay boss and friend, he and his ex-wife navigate the chaos of their shared professional and personal lives. Created by James Komack (Chico and the Man, Welcome Back Kotter), the series was conceived as a spin on the film Shampoo. NBC scheduled Snip to premiere on September 30, 1976, but cancelled it at the last minute before airing in the U.S.—a decision so sudden that TV Guide had already featured it in their Fall Preview issue. Five episodes were produced and aired in Australia, making them the only broadcast of the series.
