Tramontane(1999)

Tramontane is a French series following Angèle, who returns to her native Cathar region with her young son Jérémie after years in Africa. She arrives to find her father's estate crumbling toward bankruptcy and a cold reception from her father José and sister Irène. Seeking refuge, Angèle retreats to a house left by her mother. Her isolation ends when Stéphane, a Bosnian refugee, enters her life. Together they envision creating a regional natural park on ancestral lands, but their plans face fierce opposition: a factory development looms, and Irène champions the industrial project. As Angèle fights to preserve the landscape and her family's legacy, she must navigate conflicting loyalties, economic pressures, and the tension between progress and tradition in rural France.
