Adventure reaches a whole new level

Zixx is a Canadian live-action and computer-animated series that aired on YTV. The show blends real-world sequences with scenes set inside a digital virtual realm, pioneering the use of game-engine animation for television. Created by Jeff Hirschfield and developed by Savi Media and The Nightingale Company, Zixx broke new ground with its hybrid format across three seasons. When production moved to British Columbia for Level Two, Mainframe Entertainment joined to handle animation, making it the studio's first series to combine live action with CGI. The show's innovative approach to blending physical and digital storytelling established a template that influenced children's television production throughout the early 2000s.
