Egoli: The Movie(2010)

Egoli: The Movie reunites two former soldiers whose shared past in the Angola War continues to haunt them decades later. Niek and Joe now work for crime boss TJ Mokoena, but when Joe uncovers the brutal truth behind Mokoena's operations, his life spirals dangerously out of control. Broke and desperate, Joe leans on his stripper girlfriend Peggy for money—a relationship already strained to breaking point. Niek becomes Joe's only lifeline, though he carries his own war wounds and psychological scars. When Niek's sister Bienkie returns home with her own marital crisis, the group finds itself trapped in a web of violence, betrayal, and unresolved trauma. The film explores how the past refuses to stay buried, and how survival in one war doesn't guarantee survival in another.
