The Happy Family(1952)

The Happy Family is a British comedy film about a family's defiant stand against government authority. When planners decide to build a Festival of Britain exhibition site, they discover that a small corner shop owned by Mr. Lord and his family sits directly in the way. Despite generous compensation offers, the Lords refuse to sell or relocate. As police and bailiffs arrive to forcibly evict them, the family barricades themselves inside the shop and fights back. What unfolds is a spirited clash between ordinary citizens and bureaucratic power, played for laughs as an underdog family refuses to budge from their home and livelihood, no matter the pressure or consequences.
