Moebius(1996)
A disquieting metaphor of recent stories, fears, and oblivions…
Moebius is an Argentine science fiction film centered on a vanishing act that defies logic. When a subway train and its 30 passengers disappear into Buenos Aires's labyrinthine tunnel system, transit officials scramble to locate them. They recruit topographer Daniel Pratt to navigate the impossibly complex underground network, but Pratt soon discovers he needs the expertise of his mentor, Hugo Mistein—who has himself gone missing. As the search deepens into the city's geometric maze, the film explores themes of space, dimension, and the unknowable forces that lurk beneath the urban surface. Directed by Gustavo Mosquera, Moebius transforms a straightforward rescue mission into a haunting meditation on loss and the limits of human understanding.
