Turn On, Tune In, Drop Out(1967)

Turn On, Tune In, Drop Out is a collection of five psychedelic short films that aired on arte, the Franco-German television channel, in July 2007. The films capture the countercultural spirit of the 1960s through experimental visual storytelling. "Be-In" documents a 1967 American gathering in seven minutes, while "Beatles Electronique" explores electronic interpretations of the band across three minutes of footage from 1966–69. "San Francisco" offers a fifteen-minute British perspective on the era's cultural epicenter, and "Andy Warhol's Exploding Plastic Inevitable" presents a twelve-minute Anglo-American portrait of the artist's multimedia happenings. "Eyetoon" rounds out the collection with eight minutes of abstract animation from 1967–68. Together, these shorts form a vivid archive of psychedelic art and music during one of popular culture's most transformative decades.
