Taxi Stories(2017)

Taxi Stories is a mosaic film exploring three interconnected tales across Beijing, Hong Kong, and Jakarta. In each city, a taxi becomes the unlikely stage where class divides blur and unexpected connections form. A closeted Beijing cab driver pursues a wealthy passenger; a Hong Kong trophy wife discovers unexpected feelings for her Indonesian maid; a Jakarta orphan falls for a Western backpacker. Across these narratives, characters from vastly different worlds seek genuine human connection, yet their own fears and circumstances become their greatest barriers. The film captures intimate moments of desire, longing, and the quiet desperation that binds people across economic and cultural boundaries, revealing how proximity doesn't always bridge the gaps we create for ourselves.
