Time Piece(1965)

Time Piece is a 9-minute experimental film written, directed, and produced by Jim Henson that explores dislocation in time, time signatures, time as philosophy, and humanity's enslavement to temporal constraints. The film premiered at the Museum of Modern Art in May 1965 and went on to enjoy an eighteen-month theatrical run at a Manhattan cinema, a rare achievement for a short film. Its innovative approach earned an Academy Award nomination for Outstanding Short Subject, cementing Henson's early reputation as a visionary filmmaker beyond his later work in puppetry and television.
