The Investigation(1980)

The Investigation is a Romanian drama centered on a catastrophic industrial accident. When a massive Kauper furnace explodes, killing hundreds, Communist Party activist Ștefan is tasked with leading the official inquiry. Caught between his duty to uncover the truth and intense pressure from above to simply assign blame, Ștefan must navigate a corrupt system that demands scapegoats over justice.
